The University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) Rosenman Institute provides startups with expertise and mentorship from stakeholders across the healthcare industry.  The Institute is inviting (40) startups to pitch on May 14 or 15, 2019  to a panel of judges comprised of financial/strategic investors, subject matter experts, and clinicians. The judges will select (10) startups as the 2019 Rosenman Innovators.

If selected, your startup will:

  • Receive coaching in communications, product development, IP, clinical/regulatory, reimbursement, marketing, and business strategy from our network of experts.
  • Present to a select group of investors and industry partners.
  • Showcase your startup at the Rosenman Symposium on June 19, 2019.
  • Be eligible to receive a range of valuable in-kind services to help you accelerate your technology.

Who Can Apply?

Early-stage health technology companies (up to and including Series A investment) based in California, or with a senior leadership position based in California. No university affiliation is required. If you have applied in previous years but not been chosen for the final cohort, we welcome you to apply again if your startup has made progress.

How Can I be Selected for In-kind Services?

Our participating partners will choose the recipients of their services from among the (10) Rosenman Innovators. Services include prototyping, IP strategy, preclinical studies, regulatory, reimbursement consultation, and more. Criteria for matching a startup to a service include technology, market potential, and how much the startup would benefit. Visit the 2019 Innovators Services Rosenman website for full details at

Seed Funding Possibility.

MedTech Venture Partners, an affiliated venture firm to the Rosenman Institute, will consider investing up to $100k in a Rosenman Innovator with exceptional potential for growth.
