The University of California-San Francisco (UCSF) Rosenman Institute provides startups with expertise and mentorship from stakeholders across the healthcare industry. The Institute is inviting (40) startups to pitch on May 5 or 6, 2020 to a panel of judges comprised of financial/strategic investors, subject matter experts, and clinicians. The judges will select (10) startups as the 2020 Rosenman Innovators.

If selected, your startup will:
- Receive coaching in communications, product development, IP, clinical/regulatory, reimbursement, marketing, and business strategy from our network of experts.
- Present to a select group of investors and industry partners.
- Showcase your startup at the high-profile Rosenman Symposium on June 17, 2020.
- Be eligible to receive a range of valuable in-kind services to help you accelerate your technology.
Who Can Apply?
Early-stage health technology companies (up to and including Series A investment) based in California, or with a senior leadership position based in California. No university affiliation is required. If you have applied in previous years but not been chosen for the final cohort, we welcome you to apply again if your startup has made progress.
How Can I be Selected for In-Kind Services?
Our participating partners will choose the recipients of their services from among the (10) Rosenman Innovators. Services include prototyping, IP strategy, pre-clinical studies, regulatory, reimbursement consultation, and more. Seed Funding Possibility.
MedTech Venture Partners, an affiliated venture firm to the Rosenman Institute, will consider investing up to $100k in a Rosenman Innovator with exceptional potential for growth.
What Are the Key 2020 Dates?
April 14: Deadline to apply.
April 22: First round of selection: qualified startups notified.
April 28: Executive communications coaching session for startups selected in first round.
May 5 and 6: Startups present to judging panel at the UCSF Mission Bay campus.
May 11: Startups selected as Rosenman Innovators notified.
June 17: Morning: Innovators pitch investors & partners in private session. Afternoon: Innovators pitch public audience at Rosenman Symposium. Invited to dinner with select UCSF Rosenman Institute VIP guests.
